CardioPet ECG is a digital electrocardiogram system for veterinary practices that is designed to replace delayed analog transmission with wireless, real-time data capture. The system supports six-lead synchronous recording and direct integration with remote consulting and imaging platforms, with the aim of improving both diagnostic speed and patient comfort.
Unlike conventional monitoring setups that may require telephone transmission or tethered equipment, the CardioPet system streams ECG data wirelessly to a PC or Android device. It captures all six leads simultaneously and transmits them in a single session, reducing preparation time and simplifying the acquisition process.
The device also integrates with the VetMedStat system through its software, allowing ECG data to move directly into the diagnostic workflow. The system's lead clips use a flat-tip Comfort Clips design intended to lower contact pressure on the animal's skin.
Reduced contact pressure can help limit stress during monitoring, according to the design rationale. A calmer patient is more likely to remain still, which can produce a more stable ECG signal with fewer artifacts.
Traditional ECG workflows often require the animal to remain on the examination table while data is recorded and sent. CardioPet allows clinicians to record a 30-second trace and send it to IDEXX remote consulting experts at a later point, removing the need for transmission to occur while the patient is still on the table.
The system also works with IDEXX-PACS imaging software, which permits radiographs and ECG data to be submitted together. That combined submission can give clinicians a broader diagnostic reference for complex cases and support more informed medical decisions.
